Feikai Lin, MSc

PhD student

My name is Feikai Lin (林霏开). Taken from a famous classical Chinese essay Zuiwengting Ji, it describes the parting of the forest mist when the sun rises. I go by Lily as well sometimes. I did my master’s project with Dr. Bonner to study a human visual memory error called boundary extension. Then, I collaborated with a graduate student in Dr. Xu’s lab to study how hippocampal neurons represent cues and trajectories during spatial navigation, with in vivo ephy recording and optogenetics. Currently, as a graduate student supervised by Dr. Brandon, I try to detail, at multiple levels, how the head direction system is regulated by exteroceptive cues. Outside the lab, I love traveling, doing outdoor exercises, making desserts and Chinese cuisines.
